Hogs Mixed at Midday

Lean hog futures are mixed at midday on Tuesday with contracts within 65 cents of unchanged. July expires today. USDA’s national base hog price was reported at $110.36 on Tuesday morning. The CME Lean Hog Index was back up 15 cents at $107.25 on July 11.

USDA’s FOB plant pork cutout value from Tuesday morning was 43 cents higher at $114.28. The butt and rim primals were reported lower, with the other 4 reported higher. Monday’s estimated hog slaughter was 477,000 head according to the USDA. That was 1,000 head below last Monday and 2,067 head above last year.

Jul 25 Hogs  are at $106.900, up $0.200,

Aug 25 Hogs  are at $103.775, up $0.550

Oct 25 Hogs  is at $87.050, down $0.625,
